In the lead up to the 90th anniversary of the landing of the ANZACs at Gallipoli on Sunday 25th April 1915, I shall be posting here extracts from letters and diaries of Hunter Valley diggers and light horsemen who seen active service on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915.
The first of these extracts are contained in the diary of Trooper Frank Edwards, 1st Australian Light Horse Regiment, a 22 year old single dairy farmer of Bandon Grove via Dungog, who enlisted on 22nd August 1914.
From the First World War diary of Trooper Frank Edwards, 1st Australian Light Horse Regiment.
